I never liked Mushroom Hill in the original S3&K, and replaying it in shining 3D and HD graphics (in the 3DS acception of the word, that is :p) did nothing to alleviate my dislike for it. As you say, nearly any other zone from S3&K would have been a better pick that this fungal epitome of zone genericness.

"The Vita had it even worse": I have to admit that seeing Sonic Mania strut its stuff on PS4 while snubbing the Vita entirely put me in a very foul mood towards Sega. They're basically releasing the game on every single platform under the gaming sun; was is really that hard to come up with one or two extra conversions and make sure 3DS and Vita owners could partake in the fun? It's not like the game is demanding, now is it? Unless they used some completely different way to decide on the zones, of course. I still find it stupid that they decided to put Mushroom Hill in instead of almost any other Zone from S3&K.

The lack of a Rush game really baffles me. Just pick up the Rush engine, make some excuse plot, create some levels and bosses, keep the Jet Set Radio music guy and bam, instant great game. Dunno what the hell is happening inside Sonic Team but someone needs to move away Iizuka from the Sonic series.

And the Vita had it even worse. No games at all. The PSP had the Rivals games which were okay-ish for the most part but Sonic Team didn't even try to improve them with a hypothetical Rivals 3.Sieghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18244095185471799030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3573166426833780073.post-41116079430686338672017-08-24T18:45:39.891+00:002017-08-24T18:45:39.891+00:00Thanks for your input, Sieg! Although once again, it's not the game's most stellar track in my opinion. Why not the punchier "Jeh Jeh Rocket" or "Right There, Ride On"? But hey, that's a matter of taste, I guess. :P

As a Sonic fan, I'm so depressed by the 3DS' poor contribution to the series. The DS gave us the 2 Rush games and Colours, which are arguably the best 2D entries since the Megadrive days (I still have to play the Advance games, so that point of view may change in the future), and the 3DS gave us what? A broken spiritual successor, a decent yet derivative homage game, and a spin-off series that's widely considered trash. Sheesh, what a disgrace. I love Shattered Crystal, but come on... I wanted another Rush entry! >_< Isleifhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13619366639918254157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3573166426833780073.post-29710110269286024192017-08-24T16:34:18.445+00:002017-08-24T16:34:18.445+00:00I honestly loved Sonic Generations. Sure, they're pretty small games in terms of what they could have done with the whole Classic/Modern eras but they were still really fun. The boss/rival fights were a lot more intense on the PS3 version though. Oh, and I thought Water Palace was the pick for the Rush "era" since the music "Back 2 Back" was widely used for the original Rush's trailers back then, iirc. Personally, I loved the pick since it was my favorite zone but any zone from the first Rush would be a great pick. It's one of those games where all the zones had their own charm. I 100% agree on the Tropical Resort pick though. What were they thinking?

Sonic Lost World was a really mixed bag. I was planning on buying it for the 3DS but ended up borrowing it from one of my little brother's friends and jesus, what a mess. Supposedly, the Wii U version is considerably better but the engine is still a far fetch from what a Sonic game should feel like.Sieghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18244095185471799030noreply@blogger.com
